Telomerase Protein Component 1
[Telomerase-associated protein, TEP1, the non-catalytic subunit of telomerase, appears to bind to telomerase RNA, the RNA template required for telomere repeat synthesis. In addition to TEP1, telomerase contains the RNA component, TERC, and an enzymatic component, TERT. TEP1, the homologue of the Tetrahymena p80 telomerase protein, is widely expressed.
