1. GH Receptor
[Widely expressed by human GHR Gene (Cytokine Receptor I Subfamily 1), Growth Hormone Receptor is a type I membrane receptor for growth hormone with a ligand-binding extracellular domain (GHBP); a FnIII domain; a WSXWS motif; a cytoplasmic UbE motif for ubiquitination and internalization; and a cytoplasmic JAK interaction box 1 motif. Produced by cleavage by cell surface ADAM17, secreted GHBP may modulate GH signaling; GH appears to inhibit ADAM17. Tyr phosphorylated on GH binding by JAK2, homodimerized GHR appears to activate JAK2/STAT pathways that produce IGF1, which activates mitogenic and anabolic growth responses. SOCS3 may inhibit JAK2 activation while CIS and SOCS2 may inhibit STAT5 activation by GHR. GHR defects cause Laron dwarfism and idiopathic short stature. 4. GHRH
[hypothalamic peptide that regulates the synthesis and secretion of growth hormone in the anterior pituitary gland. ( CSP )] (UMLS (CSP) C0037668) =Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein; Neuroreactive Substance or Biogenic Amine; Hormone =Hypothalamic Hormone;
2. GHR
[This gene is involved in intercellular growth signal transduction pathways and the regulation of growth hormone. ( NCI )] (UMLS (NCI) C1415063) GHR Gene;
Growth Hormone Receptor Gene =Gene or Genome
5. GHRH
[This protein belongs to the glucagon family and is a preproprotein that is produced in the hypothalamus. The preproprotein is cleaved to form a 44 aa factor, also called somatocrinin, that acts to stimulate growth hormone release from the pituitary. Variant receptors for somatocrinin have been found in several types of tumors, and antagonists of these receptors can inhibit the growth of the tumors. Defects in the gene are a cause of dwarfism, while hypersecretion of the encoded protein is a cause of gigantism. 3. ghrelin
[neuropeptide hormone whose receptors are present on the cells of the anterior pituitary; stimulates the release of growth hormone affecting appetite and energy balance; its synthesis occurs in the epithelial cells lining the stomach. ( CSP )] (UMLS (CSP) C0911014) =Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein; Hormone =gastrointestinal hormone;
neuropeptide
6. GHRH
