GH Receptor
[Widely expressed by human GHR Gene (Cytokine Receptor I Subfamily 1), Growth Hormone Receptor is a type I membrane receptor for growth hormone with a ligand-binding extracellular domain (GHBP); a FnIII domain; a WSXWS motif; a cytoplasmic UbE motif for ubiquitination and internalization; and a cytoplasmic JAK interaction box 1 motif. Produced by cleavage by cell surface ADAM17, secreted GHBP may modulate GH signaling; GH appears to inhibit ADAM17. Tyr phosphorylated on GH binding by JAK2, homodimerized GHR appears to activate JAK2/STAT pathways that produce IGF1, which activates mitogenic and anabolic growth responses.
