This agent may possess chemopreventive activity against colorectal tumors through a mechanism that involves the induction of apoptosis. The sulfide metabolite is excreted in the bile and reabsorbed from the intestine, thereby helping to maintain constant blood levels and reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
