[Calcium Modulating Ligand (CAMLG), encoded by the CAMLG gene, blocks a calcium-dependent signal from the T-cell receptor (TCR) that normally leads to T-cell activation. CAML binds and inactivates the key signaling intermediate calcineurin, downstream of the TCR and upstream of calcineurin, by causing an influx of calcium. This integral membrane protein may be a new participant in the calcium signal transduction pathway and implicates cyclophilin B in calcium signaling. CAML regulates calcium signaling in T lymphocytes and other cells. (From LocusLink and NCI) ( NCI )]
