[Surface Glycoprotein, Ig Superfamily Member, encoded by the human CDON gene, is a cell surface glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Rhabdomyosarcoma is a childhood tumor of the skeletal muscle lineage in which cells display defects in both biochemical and morphological aspects of differentiation. The immunoglobulin superfamily members CDO and BOC are components of a cell surface receptor that positively regulates myogenesis in vitro. CDO and BOC may play a role in the inverse relationship between differentiation and transformation of cells in the skeletal muscle lineage. (From PubMed 12720294, LocusLink and NCI) ( NCI )]
